I need to say something out loud that a lot of us have been feeling in our bodies for a while now, even if we haven’t had the language for it: we are in an active spiritual war.
Not a metaphorical one. Not a “things feel a little off” one. An actual, energetic, measurable, on-your-nervous-system battle between forces that feed on human suffering and the people who are waking up and refusing to be the meal.
On one side, you’ve got systems built on the seven deadly sins (pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, sloth) running on a business model of extraction.
They don’t just tolerate your fear, division, and exhaustion. They farm it.
On the other side, there’s a growing army of people who see the pattern clearly now and are doing the work, inner and outer, to build something that actually serves the majority of us instead of a predatory few.
I didn’t arrive at this from a place of theology. I arrived at it from the data, and from twenty-plus years of watching culture up close. Let’s walk through the receipts, and then let’s talk about what you actually do about it.
The Signs Are Everywhere (You’r Not Imagining This)
We collectively know something is off. Across dozens of countries, most people believe morality is declining. Americans have felt this way for decades — and somewhere along the way, we started rebranding what our grandparents called “sin” as a “personal choice” or a “lifestyle” or, worse, a brand. Moral relativism (the doctrine that knowledge, truth, and morality exist in relation to culture, society, or historical context, and are not absolute) didn’t sneak in the back door. We rolled out the red carpet.
The seven deadly sins got a tech upgrade. This is the part that really gets me, because I built my career in brand communications and influencer marketing, I have seen the machine from the inside.
Greed shows up as wealth concentration and hustle culture that asks you to sacrifice your health, your marriage, and your peace for a status update.
Pride and envy got an algorithm. Social media is a comparison engine dressed up as connection. It’s basically a slot machine for your self-worth.
Lust got normalized and monetized until intimacy became transactional and people became content. (p-corn, dating apps, only fans etc.)
Wrath turned disagreement into blood sport. Online rage isn’t a bug, it’s the product.
Gluttony and sloth show up as endless scrolling and endless snacking while our actual communities - the ones with real, breathing humans in them - quietly wither.
I want to be very clear: these aren’t just “bad habits” anymore. They are industrialized. They are algorithmically amplified. Somebody is getting paid every time you doomscroll at 1am, and it isn’t you.

We are having a collective energetic crisis. Anxiety, depression, and loneliness are at record levels, especially for younger people. A huge number of people report feeling isolated and left out. Therapists are watching political and cultural anxiety walk through their doors daily. Call it clinical, call it spiritual, call it both- chronic fatigue, intrusive thoughts, and that “I’ve been drained” feeling are classic signs of what spiritual warfare traditions have always called energy predation. The vampires don’t need fangs anymore. They have push notifications.
Trust is collapsing, and division is the point. Trust in each other and in our institutions has been in freefall for decades. Division now ranks as one of the top stressors adults face. Political violence and even the celebration of it feel more normalized than they should. This is not an accident, it’s the perfect ecosystem for a “divide and feed” strategy.
Our institutions are starting to feel... predatory. High-profile corruption. Cover-ups. Systems that protect the powerful while regular people absorb the cost. A growing, quiet awareness that certain forces treat human beings as resourcesrather than souls. (I’ll let you sit with that sentence for a second, because it deserves it.)
The vulnerable and the truth-tellers are the primary targets. Children, family stability, bodily and mental sovereignty, plain honest truth-telling — these keep showing up as the priority battlefronts. The vampire dynamic isn’t subtle once you see it: systems and individuals that drain your hope, your attention, your life force, and then hand you a counterfeit in return and call it a gift.
To be clear, I am not handing you proof of literal demons with a clipboard and a peer-reviewed study. What I’m handing you is a pattern. A very consistent, very well-documented pattern that people across every tradition on earth have been describing for millennia: life-giving forces versus life-extracting ones. Call it what you want. The frequency doesn’t care what language you use.

How to Protect Yourself While You Help Win This Thing
Here’s what I need you to understand: protection is not the same as hiding under the covers. Protection is armor, and armor is meant to be worn into the field, not left in the closet.
Your daily energetic armor
Visualize your shield. White light, golden light, whatever feels true to you. Reaffirm daily: only what is aligned with my highest good, and the highest good of the whole, may enter here.
Ground yourself. Constantly. Feet on the earth. Root visualization. Actual time in nature, not a photo of nature. Ungrounded people are the easiest people to drain, the vampires know this even if you don’t.
Cut the cord after draining interactions. After the argument, after the doomscroll, after the family group chat, release what isn’t yours to carry.
Pray. Declare. Set intention. Whether that’s putting on the full armor of God, truth, righteousness, peace, faith, the Word, or calling in protective presence in whatever language is yours. Say it out loud. Words are technology.
Stop the energetic leakage. Less doom-scrolling. Less rage-bait. Fewer environments that quietly reward the seven deadly sins and call it “engagement.”
Starve the vampire side by living the opposite
Humility instead of pride. Generosity instead of greed. Healthy desire instead of lust. Genuine celebration of others instead of envy. Presence instead of gluttony. Patience and constructive strength instead of wrath. Diligent, meaningful action instead of sloth.
This isn’t a self-help checklist. This is offense and defense in the same move.
The practical, outer-world part
Speak truth, and speak it with courage. Discernment is a weapon. Use it.
Build real community with other awake people. Mutual support. Shared purpose. A hard refusal of isolation, because isolation is the whole strategy.
Put your energy, your money, and your voice behind what actually serves the many, not the extractive few. Health, economic fairness, protection of the vulnerable, free expression, education that builds sovereignty instead of dependence.
Protect your body, mind, and attention like the sacred territory they are. Boundaries are spiritual technology. Full stop.
Serve where you actually have capacity. Mentor. Create. Fund. Organize. Or just model what coherent, non-predatory living looks like out loud, where people can see it.
Stay in your lane of highest contribution. You do not have to fight every battle on every timeline. Scattered energy helps no one, least of all you.
The mindset that keeps you effective
You are not a victim of this war. You are a participant. You get to raise your frequency and simply refuse to feed what’s hungry for your fear.
Joy is not naïve. Clarity is not naïve. Steady, stubborn love is not naïve. In a system built to extract your fear, those things are resistance — full-body, frequency-level resistance.
And here’s the part I want you to actually remember when the news cycle tries to convince you it’s hopeless: this war is not won by one grand gesture. It’s won person by person. Household by household. Network by network. Every small act of integrity compounds, whether or not anyone’s watching.
Before the machines define us, before the algorithms finish rewriting what we think is normal — we get to decide, right now, which side of this we’re feeding.
I know which side I’m on. I have a feeling you do too.
With love and a raised frequency,
Cynthia
